“I know I thought about it”

This article, on Jon “Favs” Favreau, Obama’s twenty-six year old speechwriter (located, somewhat weirdly, in the NY Times‘ “Fashion and Style” section) has some great details (the broom!) and one especially zingy zinger: “There’s been a few times when people have said, ‘I don’t believe you, that you’re Barack Obama’s speechwriter.’ To which I reply, ‘If I really wanted to hit on you, don’t you think I’d make up something more outlandish?” Geez and yeowch.

Oh thank you

Oh, Poetry Foundation: thank you for this gem about Blago’s recent invocation of poetry to illustrate his points and his most recent Tennyson gaffe. I was hoping someone would pick up on this.
