Pre-Printers’ Ball events continue this weekend with “Collaboration,” hosted by Woman Made Gallery and coinciding with their interactive exhibition Interactive. Also part of the gallery’s regular Sunday afternoon poetry series, the event features collaborations & interactions of all kinds, perhaps even with the audience. Participants include poets Simone Muench and Philip Jenks presenting collaboratively written poetry; Mars Gamba-Adisa Caulton working with her own music; performance poetry duo Marty McConnell and Andi Strickland; Jennifer Karmin, in a live improvised collaborative performance of the text-sound epic Aaaaaaaaaaalice with Chicago writers Carrie Olivia Adams, Daniel Godston, Laura Goldstein, Amira Hanafi, Coman Poon, and Larry Sawyer; and readings curator Nina Corwin in collaboration with Janice Misurell-Mitchell, internationally known improvisational flautist. And if there’s time, Jennifer Karmin will lead a Tag Team reading in which audience members will be invited to participate with their own poetry, so everyone has a chance to be in on the action.
